Many hours of consideration have gone into this piece over the past year. It is actually a selfie, which I then “artified” using photo editor, Paint.net. I was having serious self doubt over my goals at the time, and I set this aside to focus on other “more important” things. You know, REAL LIFE! After a couple weeks, I opened the file again, and there, on the woman’s arm, is this bird!
Surely, I would remember putting that bird there…I didn’t. The bird seemed to be doing a little jig on the woman’s arm, as if inviting her to join him. To me, he looks like he is holding a guitar and wearing a Mexican poncho, like a mariachi. Though I have, in variations of this piece, edited the bird, in THIS variation, the bird is unmanipulated and appears just as he was when I discovered him.
I took the Bird’s mysterious appearance as a sign to forge ahead with my plans to create an online store and make the most of the experience, whatever the outcome. What message does Bird have for you?
